THANKS FOR VISITING!

About me
I am from Barcelona, but I have been living in Jena, Germany, for more than 15 years, where I have put down roots and truly feel at home. My passion for continuous learning led me to translation, a profession that keeps me connected with up-to-date information and challenges me to blend precision, creativity, and curiosity in every project.

Professional experience
Since January 2021, I have been working as a freelance translator and AI model trainer.
Before focusing on translation, I worked for 15 years as a researcher in laboratories specializing in molecular and cellular biology, in Spain and Germany. During this period, I studied the role of epigenetic modifications in brain development and their involvement in neurodegeneration, and published several scientific articles on the subject.
Academic Training
- Degree in Pharmacy, University of Barcelona (2003)
- PhD in Biotechnology, University of Barcelona (2008)
- Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Instituto Micromat (2016)
- Degree in Translation, Interpretation and Applied Linguistics, UVic-UOC (2021)
In 2003, I graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona and later completed a PhD in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the same faculty. My doctoral thesis (in Catalan) focuses mainly on the regulation of transcription factor Sp3, an important transcriptional regulator involved in a wide range of cellular functions.
For personal and professional reasons, in 2016, I completed an online master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Instituto Micromat of the University of Barcelona, which allowed me to update and expand my knowledge in this field.
Later, in January 2021, I graduated in
Translation, Interpretation and Applied Linguistics from the Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic) and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). My final degree project focused on the translation and translational analysis of scientific texts in German.
Advanced Training
To improve my skills as a medical translator and post-editor, I regularly participate in training courses:
- Post-editing Certification (RWS, February 2025)
- XII Medical Translation Course (Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Santander, August 2024)
- Translation of Biotechnology Patents (AulaSIC, June 2024)
- Translation of Clinical Trial Protocols (AulaSIC, March 2024)
- Memsource Certified Student (Phrase) (January 2021)
Working languages
- Spanish
- Catalan
- English
- German
I only work with languages that I know in depth and always translate into my native languages. Spanish is the language I learned from my mother, while Catalan is the one I learned from my father. I live in Germany in a multicultural environment, where I use both English and German every day. Therefore, these four languages are not only my working tools, but also my usual means of communication.
